2DExplore is a simple 2D sandbox game written in Python.
It's very like Terraria (TM by Re-Logic) and Minecraft (TM by Mojang/Microsoft).
2dexplore is not endorsed or affiliated with Mojang and/or its affiliates in any way. Minecraft (an affiliate of Mojang) is ®/TM & © 2009-2013 Mojang / Notch.
The textures used in this program, otherwise noted, are licensed to Viktor Ahlström under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
Mojang's intellectual property may be present on this repo, but it is never distributed in releases.
- You will need to download Python 2.7 (choose the x86/32 bit version) and PyGame 1.9.1 (choose the pygame-1.9.1.win32-py2.7.msi) to run this game.
- After downloading the zip, unpack it anywhere and run the script named
run.batif you use Windows or
run.shif you use Linux/Mac OS.
- You're ready to play!
- Tweak: if you want your name displayed in a namebar near the player's sprite, edit the
config.jsonfile so that it looks like this:
W - up.
A - left.
S - down.
D - right.
SHIFT + any of the above = break block in that direction.
↑ - up.
← - left.
↓ - down.
→ - right.
1 - scroll inventory.
Z - set block.
X - destroy block.
F1 - toggle god mode. (infinite inventory, flying)
F5 - screenshot. (saved in the working directory)
M - spawn an debug Entity.
N - despawn an Entity.
E - explode blocks.
ESC - new world.
